Florianópolis is a city that impresses in every way, has different landscapes and an endless list of attractions. Its diversity of natural beauty meets mountains, rainforest, bays, coves, beaches, lagoons, dunes, mangroves and salt marshes.
The city of Florianopolis is made up of two parts, the mainland and the island. Floripa, as it is affectionately called by its inhabitants, is one of three island capitals of Brazil.
Also known as "Magic Island", has established itself increasingly as a center of tourism thanks to its beautiful beaches (Jurerê, Canasvieiras, British, South Marsh easel, among others) and Lagoa da Conceição (which are found if the traditional bobbin lace). The island has 42 beaches. But if you take into consideration all public and private beaches, accessible and inaccessible, the number increases to 100.
Florianópolis still retains its culture of Azorean tradition, especially in the San Antonio neighborhoods of Lisbon and Ribeirão da Ilha. Among the historical monuments of the city, it highlights the Hercílio Luz Bridge, the Praça XV, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Cruz e Souza Museum, the House of Victor Meireles, in addition to the many forts built on the island and in its vicinity.
The Florianópolis metropolitan area also includes the cities of São José and Palhoça to the south, and Biguaçú to the north, where are concentrated industries in the region seeking to settle on the banks of the BR - 101.

THE FLORIANÓPOLIS ISLAND
Founded on March 23, 1726, with 436.5 square kilometers long and about 450 thousand inhabitants, Florianópolis is the capital of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil. The municipality comprises the main island, the mainland and some small surrounding islands.
